The Stewarts Swim School caters for children from age 4 and 1/2 years of age, teaching them to become competent and confident swimmers.
The Winter term runs from 4th November 2024 - 2nd February 2025.
Please note: Swim School is closed from 19th December - 2nd January.
To begin lessons in the Jellyfish class, a child must:
- be 4 & 1/2 years old.
- have been introduced to the water before.
- be able to take part in the class without parents/guardians in the water.
- be able to stand and walk in the pool .
- follow basic instructions from the teacher.
We recommend children attend Penguin Splash swims on Saturday and Sunday mornings to build their water confidence prior to starting swimming lessons.
If your child has attended swimming lessons in another pool, we recommend you book them in for a swim assessment to asses their current level. Swim Assessments can be booked at Reception and are held Monday to Friday at 6.40pm and Saturday and Sundays at 12.10pm.
- Classes run year round with a short break at Christmas.
- Class terms range from 7-11 weeks with each class priced at €12.50 (i.e. 8 week term = €100 euro).
- If you are unsure of your child's level you can book in for an assessment with one of our teachers at reception. These are held Monday to Friday at 6.40pm and Saturday and Sunday at 12.10pm.
- Swim school bookings are managed through Course Pro. Here, you can pay for your child's classes and view their progressions.
- Sibling discounts are offered on 3 children or more (€2 off per class), which is applied to the eldest child at checkout if it has been requested.
For any Swim School queries please talk to a member of the Sports Centre Team.
They can be reached by phone on 016269879 or email sportscentre@stewartscare.ie.
Water Wonders
Water Wonders classes cater for children aged 4 and a half up with an intellectual or physical disability. Class sizes are smaller, allowing for a more relaxed, quieter environment and are 30 minutes in duration.
The Water Wonder classes involve a parent or guardian getting into the pool with the swimmer to help them feel supported, while the teacher leads the class from the pool deck.
These classes can be booked the same as any other Swim School class, through the Course Pro app.
Water Wonders consist of three levels, Dory's, Patrick's and Nemo's.
