Kilcloon Equestrian Centre

Stewarts of Kilcloon Equestrian Centre provides recreational and therapeutic horse riding for service users from Stewarts Care, and other local organisations. Our excellent facilities include a large indoor arena and a hacking trail.

Our riding coaches have qualifications from the British Horse Society, and have Therapeutic Horse Riding qualifications. Our Equestrian Centre is approved by the Association of Irish Riding Establishment.

Our centre also provides a Day Service for adults, which involves assisting with grooming, tacking up, leading, mucking out and feeding horses. Participants enjoy regular horse riding and carriage drives, and some of our riders have taken part in Special Olympic Equestrian Competitions.

We have five horses / ponies that are used in our sessions on a regular basis. These horses have gone through a rigorous assessment process, and have been carefully selected for our premises.

The Pottery Workshop at Stewarts of Kilcloon

Kilcloon Pottery

Our pottery is designed and hand-made onsite in our workshop. Our unique designs are always changing and evolving and we pride ourselves on our ability to offer a range of customised and personalised ceramics. Our pottery process, from start to finish is a real collaborative effort between both Service-Users and staff. We use various production techniques i.e. slip casting and hand-building. We aim to offer our Service-Users a variety of learning and training opportunities as well as promoting the therapeutic benefits of working with clay. Great time and care has been invested in each and every piece.
